This is an organic essential oil for aromatherapy and fragrant moments.

Ylang ylang essential oil from Cananga odorata originates from the Comoros and is extracted by steam distillation of the flowers. The flowers are abundant, making the oil an affordable option that is also highly valued for its scent in perfumery and cosmetics. It is also used in the food industry.

The oil is described as both mentally stimulating and relaxing for the mind and body. The scent is associated with relaxation, and traditional descriptions also link it to blood pressure and a calmer feeling. In a bath or massage oil, it can contribute to a relaxing aromatherapy experience.

Ylang ylang oil has traditionally been used in connection with stress, low mood, shock, and anxiety. As a hair tonic, it is said to help balance oil production.

Ylang ylang means "flower of flowers" in Malay. The scent has traditionally been associated with sensuality and relaxation, and the flowers were scattered on the marriage bed for newlyweds in Indonesia. Muslim women used to burn the oil to scent the parts of the palace reserved for women. In China, the scent was used to purify the mandarin's clothes. Ylang ylang oil has long been associated with perfume and relaxation.

High concentrations of ylang ylang can cause headaches or nausea.
