This is an organic essential oil for aromatherapy and fragrant moments.

Essential patchouli oil from *Pogostemon cablin* in the mint family originates from Indonesia and is extracted through steam distillation of dried leaves. The plant is also native to Malaysia and India, where it is called "puchaput." The name patchouli comes from the Tamil "pachchaiilai," meaning green leaf.

Patchouli oil has a rich, musky, sweet, and spicy scent. The young leaves are dried and fermented before steam distillation, and the oil is said to develop its scent and character over time. It has traditionally been valued in skincare, including in connection with scarring.

In Eastern countries, patchouli oil has traditionally been used in potpourris and sachets between linens and clothes, both for the scent and to keep bedbugs and insects away. The scent is associated with emotional balance and a loving atmosphere.

In aromatherapy, patchouli oil is associated with a calming and grounding feeling, as well as use during times of anxiety and sadness.
