Citronella oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and stems of Cymbopogon species, primarily Cymbopogon Nardus. Citronella essential oil is known as a plant-based insect repellent and a biopesticide with a non-toxic mechanism of action, and has been registered for this purpose in the USA since 1948. The main producing countries are Indonesia and China, which together produce approximately 40% of the world's citronella essential oil.

Apart from its use as an insect repellent for the skin, the oil is valued in skincare for oily skin and hair, and as a deodorant.

Avoid use during pregnancy and on children under 3 years of age. Do not ingest.
